Shibori Spiral Dyed Square Bandana Scarf

Traditional resist dyeing gives these squares their character: clustered rosette bursts, a wide spiral that radiates from the centre, and a broad diagonal band edged in feathered lines. The cotton drinks up the dye unevenly on purpose, so each piece carries its own marks and slight variations. It stays supple after folding, holding a small knot at the throat or a looser wrap over the collar. Four dye runs move between deep indigo, midnight and a warm amber-and-rust blend, all of them easy partners for denim, linen and plain knits.
