Pleated Velvet Square Neck Babydoll Dress

Deep wine velvet with a fine crushed pleat running through it, so the surface shifts between light and shadow as you move. A straight square neckline sits high across the chest and the back is cut open and fastened with a slim tie at the nape. From the seam under the bust the skirt falls away in soft gathers to just above the knee, and full sleeves gather into wide cuffs at the wrist. It needs almost nothing with it: heels, an evening bag, done.
